GENERAL AUDITION AND SHOW INFORMATION
Contract dates range from early October/early November to late December/early January, depending on which show you are cast in.
MSGE is committed to ethnically diverse casting for all roles.
Except for children, all performers must be 18 years of age (by August 31 of current year) to be considered for casting. If you will be 17 years of age or under at the time of the audition, you will need to have your parent or guardian sign the standard audition release form, which will be given out at the audition. If your parent or guardian will not be accompanying you at the audition, you will need to download this release form, have it signed by your parent or guardian, notarized by a notary public and bring it with you to the audition.
You must be a US citizen or have a current legal permit which allows you to work in the US to be considered for casting.
Travel and Housing are provided for all performers in shows performing outside New York City. No travel or housing is provided for the performers of the show in New York. If cast in the show, performers will be offered an American Guild of Variety Artists (AGVA) contract with competitive salaries and benefits.
ROCKETTE REQUIREMENTS
ROCKETTES must be between 5?6? and 5?10 1/2? tall (measurements will be taken in stocking feet). Rockette candidates must be proficient in jazz and tap.
ENSEMBLE/PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS
MALE AND FEMALE DANCERS must be proficient in jazz and ballet. Pointe work is a plus, but not required, for Female Dancers. Male and Female Dancers will be taught a song as part of the audition. There is no need to prepare vocal material. Voice quality is not as important as the ability to sing and dance at the same time.
MALE SINGERS WHO DANCE WELL are asked to prepare an uptempo song and a ballad in their key for the audition. No recorded music is allowed. Please be prepared to dance.
LITTLE PEOPLE PERFORMERS must be adults under 4?10? tall, agile, move well to music and be able to project their voice and personality. Auditioning is preferred but LITTLE PEOPLE PERFORMERS ONLY may submit a video by mail (DVD or emailed link to caaproduction@thegarden.com are also acceptable). Please put the following on your audition tape: Please introduce yourself in an energetic voice, “Hello, my name is …,” please dance to music; and march in place to music. (Send to MSG Entertainment, 1260 Avenue of the Americas, New York NY 10020, Attn: Touring Productions. No video or headshot/resume submissions will be accepted for any other performers.) MSGE may not be holding auditions at the National LPA Convention this year.
