Casting Notice – New Hampshire – The Nashua Theatre Guild (NTG) is proud to announce auditions for our 19th annual Shakespeare in the Park A Comedy of Errors.
This fast-paced, slapstick comedy will be the first production of our banner 50th anniversary season.
The show will be directed by Robert Runck, an experienced Shakespearean actor who has trained with Shakespeare & Company and the Actors Shakespeare Project, and has appeared professionally in productions at American Repertory Theatre and Boston Center for the Arts.
Showtimes will be two weekends in late July and early August (pending final confirmation from the city of Nashua), Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m., in the Greeley Park outdoor amphitheater. Characters include Antipholus of Ephesus and Antipholus of Syracuse, twins; Dromio of Ephesus and Dromio of Syracuse, twin servants; Adriana, wife of Antipholus of Ephesus; Luciana, sister to Adriana; Egeon, lost father of Antipholus twins; Angelo, a goldsmith; Courtezan, special friend of Antipholus of Ephesus (and backstage voice of Nell, a kitchenmaid); Solinus, Duke of Ephesus; Emilia, abbess in Ephesus and lost wife of Egeon; Merchant, Angelo’s creditor; Pinch, an exorcist; Servant; Officer; Attendants (2) to Duke; Townspeople (6) of Ephesus.
Auditions will be Tuesday April 20, 7pm-9pm, and Wednesday, April 21, 7pm-9pm, in the conference room of the Court Street Theater, 14 Court Street, Nashua, NH. Callbacks will be Saturday afternoon, April 24th between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. Audition Requirements: Readings from the production script. Prepared monologues welcome but not required. Please bring two copies of a headshot and acting resume. Rehearsal start date will be late April. This is a non-equity non-paying project.
