Are you about to renovate your period property? Are you interested in exploring the history of your house?
All over the country there are spectacular properties at risk of being lost forever. These buildings are part of our identity and our history. What secrets do they hold? Who lived there in generations past? How were these properties used?
We’d like to find the owners of derelict, historic homes and follow the process of saving these architectural gems from ruin. We’ll watch them being turned into wonderful 21st-century homes, whilst at the same time turning detective to unravel the extraordinary events that these houses have witnessed.
The restoration will reveal difficult decisions about what should be saved and what sacrificed to make way for a revitalised home. How tough is it to balance sympathy for the past with the needs of modern-day living?
At the end of it all, we’ll see an important historical property saved and brought back to life to become a wonderful home once more.
