CHARACTER # 1
NICHOLAS: a likeable 16-year old (African American) who’s awkward yet attractive. He excels in sports as well as academics and is family oriented as well as a loyalist to friends. He is in the throws of his first love and the summer romance is coming to a close with the expectations of consummating the relationship in an effort to formulate a bond. He’s particularly attached to his best friend and main confidant DREW who also proves to be an archrival and nemesis.
Even though the character Nicholas is 16 would like an 18-year old individual with a youthful appearance and boyish charm and good looks to play younger.
CHARACTER # 2
DREW: is an antagonistic force within the piece. At 18, he’s older than Nicholas but non the wiser. He’s brute and crude as well as funny and entertaining. He’s just as inappropriate and debaucherous in his language as he is actions. He’s not “fat” per say however, he has the stocky and determined build of a high linebacker. Nicholas is his oldest and perhaps dearest friend however, he cannot contain his jealousy towards him or his overall attitude as far as his competitive drive is concerned with him. Drew’s character should be a stockier male co-lead but should also be attractive as well.
CHARACTER # 3
CHANEL: a sweet and mischievous (African American) teenage girl around 16. She’s clever and experienced yet suffers from the same insecurities that any other teenage girl would fall prey to. When her attempt to consummate her summer romance with Nicholas is rebuffed, she takes matters into her own hand in an effort to recoup her bruised ego by being intimate with his best friend.
Chanel’s character can be played by a fairly more mature looking female that can also pull off innocence. She’s more mature than both of the male leads and has a womanly shape even though she herself is but a girl. Wanting 18 year-old to play younger.
CHARACTER # 4
RAYNAH: a precocious 11- year old (African American) girl. She’s Nicholas’ little sister and is very protective of him. She is cute, rambunctious, and full of life. She’s very intuitive as well as naive. She dislikes Drew because she can see the potentially malice intentions behind his friendship with her brother. Even though she likes Chanel, she still holds her at an arms length and questions her intentions and overall feelings towards her brother.
