Casting “The Philadelphia Story” | Forest Park

CIRCLE THEATRE – A casting call for “The Philadelphia Story,” a 1939 American comic play by Philip Barry, will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Sunday at 7300 W. Madison St., Forest Park.

Producers are seeking six women from ages 15 to mid-50s and 10 men from ages 20s to early 60s. The show tells the story of a socialite whose wedding plans are complicated by the simultaneous arrival of her ex-husband and an attractive journalist.

Those planning to audition should prepare a two-minute comic monologue. The roles are non-Equity but do feature pay. Rehearsals will take place from May 23 to July 1 in the evenings on Sundays to Thursday.
Preview performances will take place on July 9, 10 and 13, with the official opening night set for July 14. Performances then will run from July 16 to Sept. 5 on Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
