Radio City Music Hall Auditions | Rockettes Auditions New York

The 2010 Radio City Christmas Spectacular Auditions will take place in New York and in Los Angeles in April and May. The complete audition schedule is available below. Note: MSGE will not be conducting auditions in Chicago his year.

GENERAL AUDITION AND SHOW INFORMATION

Except for children, all performers must be 18 years of age (by August of current year) to be considered for casting. MSGE is committed to ethnically diverse casting for all roles. You must be a US citizen or have a current legal permit which allows you to work in the US to be considered for casting.

Contract dates range from early October/early November to late December/early January, depending on which show you are cast in.

Travel and Housing are provided for all performers in shows performing outside New York City. No travel or housing is provided for the performers of the show in New York. Tutoring is provided for all children. If cast in the show, performers will be offered an American Guild of Variety Artists (AGVA) contract with competitive salaries and benefits.

ROCKETTE REQUIREMENTS

ROCKETTES must be between 5’6″ and 5’10 1/2″ tall (measurements will be taken in stocking feet). Rockette candidates must be proficient in jazz and tap.

ENSEMBLE/PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS

MALE AND FEMALE DANCERS must be proficient in jazz and ballet. Pointe work is a plus, but not required, for Female Dancers. Male and Female Dancers will be taught a song as part of the audition. There is no need to prepare vocal material. Voice quality is not as important as the ability to sing and dance at the same time.

MALE AND FEMALE VOCALISTS: Seeking strong singers for multi-racial ensemble vocal group. Must have great voice and style with a wide vocal range, be proficient at singing close harmony and able to move well. Prepare an uptempo song and a ballad in your key for the audition. Please bring sheet music. No recorded music is allowed. Be prepared to move.

MALE AND FEMALE SINGERS WHO DANCE WELL are asked to prepare an uptempo song and a ballad in their key for the audition. No recorded music is allowed. Please be prepared to dance.

LITTLE GIRLS must be between 10 and 14 years old and be 4’10” and under (measurements will be taken in stocking feet). ALL LITTLE GIRLS must be strong in ballet, able to work en pointe (having had at least one year of experience en pointe) and have some jazz dance ability. They must bring their pointe shoes with them to audition. There will be no exceptions. They will be taught a song at the audition, so there is no need to prepare vocal material. Voice quality is not as important as the ability to sing and dance at the same time.

LITTLE BOYS must be between 7 and 14 years of age and be 4’10” and under. LITTLE BOYS must have some jazz dance ability or at least be able to move well to music. They will be taught a song at the audition, so there is no need to prepare vocal material. Voice quality is not as important as the ability to sing and dance at the same time.

LITTLE PEOPLE PERFORMERS must be adults under 4’10” tall, agile, move well to music and be able to project their voice and personality. Auditioning is preferred but LITTLE PEOPLE PERFORMERS ONLY may submit a video by mail (DVD or emailed link to caaproduction@thegarden.com are also acceptable). Please put the following on your audition tape: Please introduce yourself in an energetic voice, “Hello, my name is …,” please dance to music; and march in place to music. (Send to MSG Entertainment, 1260 Avenue of the Americas, New York NY 10020, Attn: Touring Productions. No video or headshot/resume submissions will be accepted for any other performers.) MSGE may not be holding auditions at the National LPA Convention this year.
