Ohio Auditions for Singers

Can you sing? Do you live in Ohio? If so, The Lancaster Chorale is holding Auditions for their choir!

The Lancaster Chorale, one of only 32 professional choirs in Ohio, has announced auditions for the 2010-11 season, which also is the group’s 25th anniversary.

The chorale has openings for all voice parts and singers are paid for rehearsal, travel and performance.

Auditions are set for 6:30 to 9 p.m. Aug. 9 at First Presbyterian Church, 222 N. Broad St., Lancaster, and from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 11 at First Congregational Church, 444 E. Broad St., Columbus.

Auditions are by appointment only and are scheduled in 12-minute segments. Candidates should be prepared to perform a selection of their choice; it may be in any style. An accompanist will be provided.

In the remaining time, candidates will vocalize to show the range and color of their voice and to demonstrate the ability for pitch and retention.

Candidates can go to site www.lancasterchorale.com or visit the group on Facebook or MySpace to download music samples and video. For further information, or to schedule an audition, call (740) 687-5855 or e-mail auditions@lancaster chorale.com.
