Summer Theatre of New Canaan (Connecticut), Melody Meitrott Libonati, Artistic Director will be casting its 8th summer season seeking professional and amateur actors (all ages).
Summer Season: You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown June 18-July 9; Carousel July 16-Aug 6; Theater for a Young Audience: A Year With Frog & Toad weekends June 25-Aug. 6 and Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse July 23-Aug 6. Casting all roles. All musical actors must have good voices and be able to move well. Also looking for dancers who can sing for Carousel and Frog & Toad. “Equity Performer Auditions” and non union auditions in Connecticut: Sat. April 16, 10AM-6PM, Sun. April 17, 12:30PM-6:30PM. Additional casting April 30 10AM-1PM. Casting held at the Performing Arts Conservatory of New Canaan, 237 Elm Street, New Canaan CT. (Across from train station) Prepare contrasting 16 bars of songs in style of show. Songs from shows acceptable. Accompanist provided. For Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse please prepare a one minute monologue. Bring resume and photo (attached). Open call, no appointments. All performances in a modern open-air tent theater at Waveny Park, New Canaan. Summer Theatre of New Canaan provides employment to professional actors & staff and may offer show or seasonal stipends to non-professional actors and staff. The three ensemble actors should be versatile character actors, great singers able to harmonize and good dancers.

Auditions just for Children:
New Junior Company of Summer Theatre of New Canaan holding auditions for Disney’s Camp Rock. Casting Middle School children going into 4th-8th grade. Auditions April 9, 3:00-7:00PM held at Performing Arts Conservatory of New Canaan studios, 237 Elm Street, New Canaan CT. (Across from train station) Rehearsals weekday afternoons July 11- 29. Performance, July 29. Please prepare one song, can be from show. Come prepared to dance. Program is Tuition based (some need based scholarships). High School Apprentice Program:
Interviews now being scheduled for High School Apprentice Summer Theater intensive with the Summer Theatre of New Canaan. This is a full day four week program taught by professional actors and creative artists covering all aspects of theater and performance. Classes held at the Performing Arts Conservatory of New Canaan studios and at the Waveny Park tent theater June 27-July 24. Tuition based program. College Internship Program:
Rolling applications are now being accepted for college internships with the Summer Theatre of New Canaan.
