Living History Auditions
Kentucky Shakespeare is the largest in-school education program in the commonwealth and we are currently casting our newest show, “Living History” which will be launching this January. The program consists of 2 performances, 1 for 4-8 graders and 1 for High School students. The show is created around the Core Content of social studies and includes primary source documents, landmark court cases, and historical figures. This program will run from January-May and will tour to schools in and around Kentucky. We need our actors to be able to commit to the full program, so please only set up an audition if you are available to fulfill the entire contract.
Housing will be provided for up to 1 year for out of town actors.
Please prepare a 1-2 minute monologue, preferably a primary source document from history. (ex: Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech)
Sides will be available at the audition.
If you are unable to attend the audition, you may submit an electronic audition through email.
Auditions: Saturday November 12th at 10:00 am-1:00pm in the Artspace building; 323 W. Broadway, second floor. Please contact Jordan to make an audition appointment. 502-574-9900 or email at jordan@kyshakespeare.com.
