SWING!
Swing! is an enthralling song and dance show that makes it abundantly clear that swing was never a time or a place—-it has always been a state of mind! “Two thirds rhythm and one third soul.” That’s how Fats Waller defined the uniquely American form of popular music and dance known as “swing.”
Casting: (non-equity)
Principals, A Singing Ensemble and a strong Dancing Ensemble
Ages: Adults and Young Adults (Jr. High School Age and older)
Seeking 25-30 dancer-singers or dancers and singers in the style of Big Band; Jazz, Swing, Jive, Lindy Hop, etc. There are opportunities for vocal and dance solos!
Auditions: Wednesday, August 24, 2011 OR Thursday, August 25, 2011
Where: Frost Jr. High School 320 W. Wise Rd.; Schaumburg, IL 60193
Registration: 6:30-6:45 PM;
Time 6:45-9:45 PM; No appointment needed. Please be prepared to be at auditions entire time stated. Please prepare 32 measures of a song from the period; bring sheet music in your key; a dance combination will be taught, dress accordingly. Please bring a non-returnable photo and resume.
