Casting Call Info:
In My Life – A Musical Theatre Tribute to the Beatles is an award-winning retelling of the Beatles story through the eyes of manager Brian Epstein and featuring four musician/actors who both portray the Beatle characters and play the music live. The show plays in 1,000 – 2.000 seat theatres, including regional theatres like Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts. The show follows the Beatles through pivotal moments in their career – the Cavern Club, Abbey Road Studios, The Ed Sullivan Show, Shea Stadium, the Apple Corp rooftop, etc. The production has sold over 90% theatre occupancy for each of the 17 runs. The show’s site is www.inmylifetheplay.com.
We are seeking three musician/actors in their 20s and 30s to play John, Paul and George to perform in the show. “John” needs to be able to sing like Lennon, play rhythm guitar and keys. “George” must be a good lead guitarist with some background vocal abilities and very simple key board skills, and “Paul” must play bass, acoustic, a few keyboard songs and sing the Paul vocals. Left-handed bass players or a willingness to learn to play left-handed is a huge plus.
We will be scheduling an audition in the next few weeks and beginning rehearsals in mid-July. We will book the band in clubs, for pay, for a few months to assist getting the group performance ready. The show is ongoing, but the new crew will begin performing in performing arts centers in January 2012.
Compensation for the In My Life shows have ranged between $500 and $4,000 per musician per show, plus per diems and hotel. Compensation for the concert shows before January will range between $350 – $1,000 per musician per show.
If you are interested in auditioning, kindly forward your headshot, resume and link to your musicality (video preferred). We will be scheduling auditions, by invitation, shortly.
