Seeking:
Clio/Kira: (Mezzo) Clio is a beautiful, magical muse who is sent to earth to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny Malone. When on earth, she disguises herself as and Australian girl named “Kira.” Must be proficient on roller skates and speak with a convincing Australian accent.

Sonny Malone: (High Tenor – Rock and Roll Belt) A muscular, handsome, and masculine young artist who is frustrated until he meets Kira who inspires him to create the world’s greatest roller disco. Carries the show with his Venice beach positive attitude, and doesn’t take himself too seriously. Must be proficient on roller skates.

Danny Maguire: (Baritone/Tenor) Age range 40’s-60’s. One-time big band musician turned greedy, power-hungry real estate agent. He is the landlord of the auditorium Sonny wants to turn into his roller disco. Must sing, move, and command the stage. Also plays Zeus.

Melpomene: Age range late 20’s-30’s strong belt/mix (low G to D). The Muse of Tragedy. The oldest of the sister muses, she is insanely jealous of Clio, and plots her downfall. She has rage issues as big as her hair. Also plays Medusa.

Calliope: Age range late 20’s-30’s strong belt/mix (low G to D). The Muse of Epic Poems. Partners with Melpomene to bring about Clio’s downfall. Also plays Aphrodite.

The Muses: (2 male, 2 female) The muses are not merely supporting leads or ensemble. All must be stars in their roles as Kira’s sisters, the Muses, Sirens, and Mythic Monsters, each dominating (or scene stealing) in such songs as “Evil Woman,” “Have You Ever Been Mellow,” “I’m Alive,” and “Strange Magic.” All must be excellent singers with ability to hold their own in tight, rock ‘n roll, 1980s harmony. All must dance/move very well. All should be able to roller skate or dance on skates; a few will be able to fake it, while others need to be capable skaters/dancers-on-skates. One male muse must be a strong tap dancer.
