Open Call for Auditions
WHAT: Junesong Arts is seeking actors for the upcoming production of Timothy J. Guillot’s We Fight We Die, produced as part of the 11/12 Mead Theatre Lab Program at Flashpoint. Directed by Alvin Ford.
Lead by a chorus of urban poets speaking in the rhythms of hip-hop and spoken word, We Fight We Die tells the story of Q, a homeless, virtuosic graffiti artist who is forced to license his talents to the government in order to avoid jail.
WHEN: Tuesday, August 23 between 7-10pm at the Source Theatre rehearsal room located at 1835 14th Street, NW. Visit http://www.sourcedc.org/about/directions.html for directions.
WHO: Seeking non-equity actors ONLY. Male/female actors ages 18-30 and female actors age 29-40. Brief character descriptions:
Q (M 18-30): Our hero, brooding and defiant.Wits (M 18-30): His only friend and close companion.Mayor Sandra Fishman (F 29-40): The mayor of the local city. Power-driven.The Chorus: (M/F 18-30): Speakers of the story, and all other additional roles.

A wait list will be created if necessary. Please prepare a 1-2 minute piece. Monologues are welcome and works of poetry/spoken word are encouraged but not required. Please bring a headshot and resume. Sides will be provided at the audition.
All actors must be available for rehearsals starting on Monday, September 12. Rehearsals will be held Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday; Saturday and Sunday from 1-4pm (subject to change), and Monday and Wednesday from 7-10pm. All actors must be available for tech October 19-23 in the evening hours. Performances are scheduled October 27-November 13; Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8pm, and Sunday at 3pm, with an additional performance on Monday, October 31 at 8pm. All performances are located at Flashpoint, 916 G Street, NW.
