Anyone interested in performing on stage at Theatre Charlotte is welcome to audition. For musicals, generally you will be required to prepare a song and bring the sheet music to the audition and come dressed to move. For non-musicals you will most likely be asked to read scenes from the script. Perusal copies of scripts are often available for those interested in auditioning. Rehearsals are usually held Sunday through Thursday evenings.

AJ: female, genderqueer, non-Caucasian, preferably Asian; androgynous
Teague: male, race-any.
Sarah: female, genderqueer, lesbian, race-any.
Gold: male, gay, race-any.
Female chorus 1: lesbian/queer, race-any
Female chorus 2: lesbian/queer, race-any
Male chorus 1: gay/queer, race-non-Caucasion, preferably African American

Please bring a prepared 1 to 2 minute monologue, comedic or serious, that showcases physicality. Also wear clothing appropriate for movement and be prepared to participate in group activity. You may come anytime between 1 and 4 pm and be prepared for the process to take about an hour.
In this original work, we follow 8 actors discussing, exploring and portraying accounts of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth of Time Out Youth, a Charlotte-based support organization in its 20th year. From childhood to the work place, from loneliness to coming out, these performers will pull the audience through this non-traditional theatre piece.
All characters must appear to be in their late teens or early 20s and must have a willingness to portray identity/orientation accurately and with respect. All characters have equal amount of lines and are equally important.
Rehearsals start late April. Performances are May 23 and 24 at Theatre Charlotte.
