PCC Productions announces AUDITIONS for HIGH SCHOOL SINGERS and ACTORS for the 2012 Professional Musical Theatre Ensemble. Sunday, February 26th from 1-8p at AMS Studios (302 West 37th Street, 6th floor, between 8th and 9th avenues).
This fifteen (15) week workshop develops intense training in acting technique, song interpretation, repertoire profiling, musicality, musicianship, movement, dance (optional) and a host of other invaluable skills the aspiring professional performer will face in the changing landscape of the musical theatre industry. Most importantly, it allows for students to perform in an ensemble environment while making new friends and challenging each other’s growth. As the training offered in this program is rigorous, we are only accepting high school students who demonstrate significant potential, drive and talent in the field of musical theatre performance.
Working side-by-side with current industry professionals and guest artists (past artists have included Adam Guettel, Billy Porter, Lilias White, David Sabella-Mills, Stephen Oremus, et. al.), students will hone their craft by working on new music written specifically for the class by festival composers. They will have songs crafted to their vocal type and help build a unique, custom-made repertoire book.
In addition, ALL participants will have the chance to perform in an original world premiere Off-Broadway production at the New York Live Arts Center as part of the 2012 West Village Musical Theatre Festival. This is a high-budget event that attracts a veritable “who’s who” list of producers, directors and industry professionals each year.
