Auditions for 1776 – musical

Location: Colonial Players Annex, 2132 Renard Court, Annapolis, MD 21401

Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 2 p.m.
Sunday, January 6, 2013: 7 p.m.

General Information:

Sign-in will be available 30 minutes prior to auditions which will begin promptly at the hours listed. Arrivals after the listed start time must be coordinated with either the Director or the Producer.

Auditioners are expected to prepare 24 – 32 bars of music in the style of the show to showcase their vocal style and range. Your audition piece may not be from 1776; it need not be from musical theater. Sheet music is preferred – an accompanist will be provided. CD/iPod accompaniment (instrumental ONLY) is permitted but not recommended. NO a capella singing auditions will be allowed.

Auditioners should be prepared to learn simple choreographed moves and to read cold from the script.

Auditioners are encouraged to download the 1776 Audition form from the Colonial Players website to fill out in advance of arrival at auditions.

SHOW SYNOPSIS
During the stifling hot spring and summer of 1776 the fate of a nation is at stake while members of the Continental Congress in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania debate issues as sticky as the weather in an effort to settle the question of whether or not to declare independence from England.

Auditions are held in our Annex at 2132 Renard Court (near the Annapolis Mall), unless otherwise noted. Colonial Players welcomes actors and other volunteers of all backgrounds and skill levels.
