The Southport Performing Arts Conservatory is holding auditions for “The Wizard of Oz” at 3 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 2013, at 3433 W. Peterson Ave., Chicago. Auditions are open to children ages seven and older. Auditions will be approximately 15-20 minutes in length. Children should be prepared to perform a monologue and song of their choice as well as a group movement exercise. Those cast in the play are required to attend all scheduled weekly rehearsals which begin at the end of January. This production will open at the end of June and is to be performed at the Auditorium of Northeastern Illinois University.
