A group of recent film school alumni are currently casting non-union actors for a short film that will be submitted to various film festivals.
SYNOPSIS: Based on a true-life story, this film tells the story of a young, nerdy kid as he is introduced to the world of legendary rap music and how he teaches himself to learn how to rap.
CHARACTERS:
1) YOUNG SAXON (9-12): Lead character, Male, Must be able to portray African-American descent
Nerdy, small 7th grader with an ambition and drive to learn how to rap so that he can one day become a famous rapper.
NOTE: Actors interested in this role must be comfortable either rapping or learning how to learn the basics in how to rap.
2) ANTWAN COOK (13-16): Featured character, Male, Must be able to portray African-American descent
Popular bully that challenges Young Saxon to a rap battle.
NOTE: Actors interested in this role must be comfortable either rapping or learning how to learn the basics in how to rap.
3) BRANDON KINCY (15-18): Featured character, Male, Must be to portray African-American descent
Young Saxon’s older brother. While he seems tough, he cares for Young Saxon and helps introduce his younger brother to the world of rap music.
QUAVE BROWN (12-15):: Featured character, Male, Must be to portray African-American descent
Quave is the popular, pretty, and nice girl in school – the perfect combination that makes all the boys love her, including our main character, Saxon.
