Description: Teatro Vista will be holding auditions for the world premiere of
i put the fear of méxico in ‘em by Matthew Paul Olmos directed by ensemble member, Ricardo Gutierrez.

Pay: CAT AEA Tier One Non-equity is $60 per week

Seeking:

Jonah – 34, Caucasian
Cautiously seeking fun, adventure and lobster

Adray – 34, Caucasian
Jonah’s wife, she wears the pants

Efren – 37, Mexican
Bold, brash, loves to challenge and laugh his ass off. A human machine gun.

Juana – 30, Mexican
Married to Efren, an assault rifle hangs form her shoulder for equal rights.

Vivia – 19, Mexican
An inept stripper and bargirl, she becomes a coyote. Inexperienced, perhaps innocent.

Mariachi, Drug Dealer, and Policia – Mexican male, any adult age. Must sing, playing guitar would be a plus.

An American couple visiting Tijuana stumble off the beaten path, and are accosted by a Mexican couple in an alley. What ensues is a complex encounter that challenges notions of boundary, safety, identity and what you would do for your family.

Time Commitment:
First Rehearsal: October 1st
First Preview: November 4th
Opening: November 8th
Closing: December 9th

Sides will be sent when an appointment is made. A reader will be provided.
The script will be made available.
