2012 RCP One Act Festival – auditions will be held on Monday, May 14th and Tuesday, May 15th at 7:00 PM at Peace Lutheran Church. We are looking for as many as seven men and eight women across a wide range of ages (see synopses below).

Please come to auditions prepared t…o fill out a calendar with all of your conflicts between May 15th and the weekend of the shows (June 22-24). We will need this information to put together a rehearsal schedule once we finish casting.

Broken Windows Theory, written by Eric Goldstein, directed by Timothy Bond
A college ethics professor and single mother tries to deal with the choices her son is making, with the help of a wisecracking but supportive friend.

Characters (2M, 2F): Fiona, an ethics professor; Michael, a philosophy professor and friend to Fiona; Shane, a college student and Fiona’s son; Melinda, a college student and Shane’s girlfriend

Coming Up Roses, written by Jen Bindeman, directed by Barb Mathers
Two people meet for a blind date that goes well, depending on your perspective.

Characters (1M, 1F): Maya, a career woman in her 20’s; Todd, her date for the evening, also in his 20’s

Community, written by Ilana Bruton, directed by Donna Hansen
Members of a community theatre group react to the breakdown of a local star, while dealing with their own, very different, feelings toward him.

Characters (2M, 1F): Ted, an actor in his 30’s to 50’s; Georgia, Ted’s girlfriend, similar age; Carmen, a producer, also 30’s to 50’s

Echoplex, written by Lance Alan, directed by Heather Hudson
In a degenerating world not far removed from our own, a set of interviews expose the inevitable breakdown within a series of repeating events

Characters (2M): X, Y, Z, AA, BB – five characters will be portrayed by two actors, aged 20 – 35 and 40 – 55 respectively

Generations, written by Sean Paraventi, directed by Cheryl Schubert
A family visits their elderly grandmother, hoping to convince her that they should all move in together.

Characters (4F): Betty, an elderly woman; Molly, Betty’s oldest daughter; Andrea, Betty’s youngest daughter; Amy, Molly’s teenage daughter
