The Promise, a 2-hour staged musical of the life and words of Jesus, performs annually at the Texas Amphitheatre. It begins on the banks of the present-day Paluxy River as a Grandfather strolls with his grandchildren, Billy and Lisa, in the Texas countryside. When the Grandfather spots a familiar campsite, he begins to tell the story of the Promise. From that moment, they are swept into the authentic events of Christ’s life–from the Old Testament prophets to His glorious Ascension–all told through award-winning songs by Word, Inc. and powerful dialogue based on Scripture.
