NY – African American/Dark Hispanic Male

By | February 19, 2012

Non-union, African American/Dark Hispanic Male, 30-50 years old
Casting notice posted on auditionsfree.com, casting location: New York City
Indie short by festivals winning director is looking for an AA or Latino male actor, 30 to 50 years old, to play the second lead in a short film shooting 3/1-17 (actor will only be needed 2, 3 days).

Character: Andre, 40 years old, Black Dominican

Andre is the best friend and partner in crime of Frank, the two of them growing up together in poverty in NYC. Andre is the unspoken “big brother” in both the personal and professional relationships with Frank. Andre is a mixture of good and “evil” in that he embodies both the appreciation for life’s joys and the law of survival of the fittest, that growing up “street” has taught him. The story begins with Frank’s change of heart in his business of crime, and the betrayals that would ensue.

No pay, but director is great with reel and credit. Previous actors were invited to red carpet at festival screenings in NYC last summer for the short “When Cars Sing.”
