Steve Silver’s Beach Blanket Babylon, the world’s longest running theatrical cabaret show, is located in San Francisco’s North Beach district. Beach Blanket Babylon runs 50 weeks a year and plays 7 to 9 sold out performances per week to enthusiastic audiences.
We will have openings in January 2013 for male and female Performers and Understudies with high energy, excellent vocal, movement and performance talent and skills.
Women must have a strong singing voice in any vocal range, alto to soprano, with an amazing belt. You must be at least 18 years of age and appear 35 or younger. We are seeking taller, larger women as well as smaller slimmer women in good physical condition.
Men must have a strong tenor or bass singing voice. You must be in good physical condition and should be 5’7” to 6’ 3”.
You must show enough dance/movement skill to be taught some tap dancing. Comic timing and the ability to imitate popular culture icons and to play with accents are a plus.
All ethnicities are welcome to audition.

If you live more than 50 miles from San Francisco, we will review a video of no more than two minutes length of you singing only (no dance or acting, please) showing off your best legitimate voice. We may invite video auditioners to call-backs in the two weeks following the open call auditions. Actually attending the audition is preferred.

Attend open call auditions Saturday, September 15, 2012, at noon, at Club Fugazi, 678 Green St. (Beach Blanket Babylon Boulevard) between Columbus and Powell, San Francisco.
Prepare at least one up-tempo number (preferably rock or pop) and a ballad. Bring music in your own key, a current résumé & photo. Please, wear shoes you can move in.
