‘THE TOTALLY TUBULAR TIME MACHINE’

Culture Club Live Productions (prod.) is casting The Totally Tubular Time Machine. Synopsis: “Have you ever wanted to go back in time? Now is your chance. Get on board The Totally Tubular Time Machine, Culture Club’s new interactive experience opening in the fall of 2012, what is sure to be New York City’s newest and zaniest interactive party of the decades. We are in search of NYC’s most charismatic people who know how to work a room, be the life of the party, and most importantly know how to have fun. Get paid to party like a pop star.” Suzanna Melendez, dir. Rehearsals begin in Sept.; opens Fall 2012.

Seeking—Queen Of The Decades Past, Present & Future: male or female, 21-40, host of the century, think father time meets miss America, must be comfortable on a microphone and have strong improvisational skill, strong energetic individual who can do it all, sing, dance, act, and most importantly make everyone feel welcome, safe, and ready to party like it was literally 1989;

Mo Donna: female, 21-35, lives in 1980, just broke up with boyfriend Juan Zenn and is bit depressed and very easily aggravated, especially by Lady Paga who seems to be trying to steal her limelight, must sing and dance;

Michael Packson: male, 21-35, lives in 1980, “the King of Pop,” happy and sweet to all, loving and great to hang with, humble and insecure, helps everyone with improving his or her dance moves, dancing and taking pictures with everyone, must dance and sing;

Ron Jovi: male, 21-35, lives in 1980, very self-absorbed, fishing for compliments from everyone and finding all the rockers in the club for a little competition – American Idol style, sure he can sing his hit better than anyone (but can he?), a sore loser and a sore winner, constantly trying to prove that he is more than pop and should be compared to the greatest rockers of all time, must sing, dance, and play a mean air guitar;

Lady Paga: female, 21-35, lives in the present, heard about the Totally Tubular Time Machine and decided to get on board and travel back to the 80s, charming and dynamic in a very strange way, her fashion is shockin and her voice is rockin watch out Mo Donna, must sing & dance and love to dress in elaborate costumes;

Bustin Beaver: male, 21-35, lives in the Present, read about the time travel mission on TMZ and figured this was finally the opportunity for him to get back to the 80s where he could hopefully meet Michael Packson and have a dance-off with him, kind and cute but not the sharpest tool in the shed, becomes afraid that he will never get back to 2012 and his girlfriend Salina Gomez, worries “Doesn’t anyone get this? We are stuck in the 80s”, must dance and sing;

Rodnella R-ice: male, 21-35, lives in 1990, trying to get back to 1980 so he can steal his birth certificate so no one will figure out who he really is, discovers that he has a lot in common with Bustin Beaver, they both had hits that had “Baby Baby” in them, also very into Bustin Beaver’s fashion and wonders if he should trade his high-waisted genie pants for some low-rise skinny jeans, charming, ladies love him, must be able to dance, sing, and do the running man;

Whitney Squares: female 21-35, lives in 1990, sweet southern girl, shy yet sexy, wants to travel back to 1989 before it all began, can’t help but be attracted to Bustin Beaver, as he reminds her so much of her ex boy-band boyfriend, yet she is also attracted to Mo Donna, hmmm…does what happens in 1980 stay in 1980?, must sing and dance.

Casting note: “All should be fun, exuberant actors, singers, dancers, and celebrity impersonators who are comfortable with improvisational theatre. Experience welcomed but not required.”
