The fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm are turned on their heads in this fast-paced, rollicking ride as two narrators and several actors attempt to combine all 209 stories ranging from classics like Snow White, Cinderella, and Hansel and Gretel to more bizarre, obscure stories like The Devil’s Grandmother and The Girl Without Hands. A wild, free-form comedy with lots of audience participation and madcap fun.

Roles are available for men, women, boys, and girls ages 11 and up. The show will be directed by Live Arts artistic director Becca Parker and stage managed by Michael Parker.

For the audition: Please prepare to tell a 2 minute version of your favorite fairy tale from the point of view of one of the characters. There will also be a short improvised scene. Please bring a head/shoulders photo and a resume if you have one. This is an ensemble show, which means there are many parts of varying sizes. There are also a few non-speaking roles. Some roles in the show may be double cast, and some actors may be cast in multiple roles.

Please also have available a list of any and all conflicts/commitments for the period of January 21-March 23. The rehearsal schedule will be set so that various tales are rehearsed on specific dates, and the conflicts will be used in creating the schedule. Production week is March 18-24 and we will be working each evening during this week. All rehearsals will let out no later than 9:30pm.

There will be a $25 fee per child for this production to cover script and costume t-shirt. You will get to keep the script and the t-shirt.

We are also looking for designers, and assistant stage manager and backstage crew. If you are interested in one of these positions, please contact director Becca Parker at beccaparker@liveartstheatre.org.
