The play takes place in 1968. It depicts the struggles of a Black family who have migrated from the South to the North.
Looking to cast 3 actresses. Berta, 47 – Mother of 9, hardworking woman of the south. No-nonsense woman.
Lillian – 18 – Fireball of life and opinionated.
Helen, 23 – Newly divorced mother of 2 with a 3rd one on the way. No-nonsense like her mother Berta. A bit bitter.
Poogie – 47 – Berta’s husband. A hardworking man of the South. Lost an arm as a child at the hands of a White mob. Harbors this pain deep in his belly. Actions in play will bring this pain to the surface.
Robert James – 21. A young man who is denying paternity of the newborn child of another one of Berta’s daughters. A young man who wanted to have sex but not a child.
Narrator needed to read stage directions.
Staged Reading is planned for the afternoon of March 10th.
Compensation is $100 for reading.
$15 for each rehearsal. 2 are planned.

Hello, my name is Scipio Mundine. I have some experience in acting, such as a few Theatre classes I took in High School. For the longest, I’ve been looking for some film work. I’m very interested in Television and Film Acting. I had a pleasure of working in short films in acting classes I’ve taken in high school before. I am very intelligent, personable young man who is gifted with the talent I have, in acting. My learning skills and dedication are excellent. I have the ability to move and speak in precise manner at right moment for particular impact; pacing of action. I’m really good to understand the rhythm expression of the play, dictated by script, director, other actors, type of play. I catch on fast and could regulate speed of delivery and speed of action.
