Athena Project’s World Premiere, Plays In Progress (PIP) Series, and Girls’ Write
AUDITION NOTICE
If you are an actor looking for theatre that works on new plays, look no further! We cordially invite non-Equity actors of all age ranges, ethnicities, heights, and hair colors to audition (by appointment only) on Saturday December 7, from 1-5pm, AND December 8 from 10am-1pm at Girls, Inc. of Metro Denver, (1499 Julian Street).
Athena Project will be casting 4 Plays In Progress for 2 workshop performances each in our upcoming 2014 Athena Project Arts Festival, running March 14-30, 2014 at The Aurora Fox Studio space. We also will be casting for our World Premiere, Government Issued Long Johns by Erin Wagoner. Performances for the World Premiere will be Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm also during March 14-30. Rehearsals for the World Premiere will begin January 27 and will be Monday-Thursday evenings and one weekend day. Rehearsals for the PIP Series will begin February 10 and will be about 2 times a week (including some weekends) leading up to the Festival. Exact schedule and rehearsal location is TBD.
When: Saturday, December 7, 1-5p, AND Sunday, December 8 from 10am-1pm by appointment only.
Callbacks will be Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday (Dec. 9, 10, or 11 respectively) from 6:30-9:30pm at a location TBD.
What to do: Schedule your audition appointment by emailing info@athenaprojectfestival.org. Please include the following: 1) preferred audition time (preferably a window), 2) your name, 3) gender, 4) age range, and 5) contact phone number. DO NOT call Girls, Inc. to schedule your audition. You will receive a confirmation email within 48 hours of your audition request.
What to bring: As you will be auditioning for 5 directors, please bring 5 copies of your resume, headshot, and audition sheet (attached to your confirmation email). A copier will NOT be available at the space, so please come prepared, with all items stapled together.
Also, please do not arrive more than 15 minutes prior to your start time. The waiting area is a small space and unless you want to be outside, please plan accordingly.
Audition material: Please prepare a one-minute contemporary monologue for your audition; classical material is not recommended. There will be a timer, so please be courteous to your fellow actors and conscious of your selection.
Character breakdowns by age range/gender and play synopses are available on the Athena Project’s website (www.athenaprojectfestival.org). Again, all age ranges and ethnicities are needed for these plays, so email us for your appointment!
