The Baltimore Shakespeare Factory’s core mission is to perform the works of Shakespeare and his contemporaries using what is known of the staging conditions of Shakespeare’s time: universal lighting that allows for audience interaction, cross-gender casting, doubling, use of modern music in the pre-show and interludes. The Baltimore Shakespeare Factory is dedicated to the careful study of Shakespeare’s language and will require actors to analyze that language carefully and in depth.
Audition dates & times:
• Sunday, October 27 — 3 pm — 8 pm
• Monday, October 28 — 6 pm — 10 pm
Auditions will be scheduled in 30 minute intervals and approximately 5-6 individuals will be auditioned at one time. Headshots and resumes are welcome but not required. You will be asked to read a short monologue during your audition. All roles are non-union and actors will be paid a small stipend.

• Sunday, November 3 — 3 pm — 8 pm
• Monday, November 4 — 6 pm — 10 pm
These auditions will be for the following plays:
• Richard III — Rehearsals begin: early February, performances begin: late March, show closes late April;
• Much Ado About Nothing — Rehearsals begin: mid/late-May, performances begin: early July,
show closes early August;
• Measure For Measure — Rehearsals begin: early mid-June, performances begin: early August, show closes late August.
The basic rehearsal schedule for each production will consist of two weekday evening rehearsals (7 – 10 pm), and either a Saturday or Sunday rehearsal from 10 a.m – 4 pm.
Actors who are Baltimore Shakespeare Factory company members, and/or actors who performed with the Baltimore Shakespeare Factory in the 2013 season do NOT need to schedule an audition for the Oct. 27-28 dates – you only need to register for an audition slot during one of the call back dates (Nov. 3 or Nov. 4).
All auditions are held at the St. Mary’s Outreach Center, 3900 Roland Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21211.
