Play description: This girl-loves-ghoul rock n roll Off Broadway musical is set in the atomic 1950s at Enrico Fermi High, where the law is laid down by a zany, tyrannical principal. Pretty senior Toffee has fallen for the class bad boy. Family pressure forces her to end the romance, and he charges off to the nuclear waste dump. He returns glowing and determined to reclaim Toffee’s heart. He still wants to graduate, but most of all he wants to take Toffee to the prom. The principal orders him to drop dead while a scandal reporter seizes on him as the freak du jour. History comes to his rescue while a tuneful selection of original songs in the style of 50s hits keeps the action rocking across the stage. “A musical blast! Fun for the whole nuclear family!” – New York Daily News

CHARACTERS: Seeking actors ages 14-50. Casting will be age appropriate. Will consider young adults 20-25ish for students, if they read age17-19. Note that all roles are very stylized and a bit exaggerated. Looking for actors who are able to play outside of the box.

DELIAH STRICT – Age Range: Must read 34-36. Male or Female – may be cast as a man in drag. School Principal; icy and hard on the outside with a heart of gold. Should have excellent comic timing. Think Carol Burnett/Bea Arthur/Ru Paul. Strong Belt Mezzo with good head tones

EDDIE FLAGRANTE- Age Range: Must Read 35-40. Smarmy newspaper journalist; opportunistic tabloid reporter who roots for the underdog and “justice” in the end. Think Geraldo Rivera but with Kevin Klein’s comic appeal. Strong Baritone – Frank Sinatra/Michael Buble’ tone.

TOFFEE – Age: Must read 17-19. Senior; Good girl from the right side of the tracks. Hopelessly in love with Jonny. Belt Soprano

CANDY – Age: Must read 17-19. Senior; Nervous and hyper. Always chewing her nails. Solid Belt

COCO – Age: Must read 17-19. Senior; sexy bad schoolgirl with a dry wit. Belt Soprano

GINGER – Age: Must read 17-19. Senior; Class nerd, sweet and means well but she verges on annoying. Belt Soprano

JOEY – Age: Must read 17-19. Senior; Class Jock. Big, handsome and dumb. Tenor with low notes too

JOSH – Must read 17-19. Senior; The class geek. Aspiring journalist. Tenor with low notes too
