Busch Gardens in Williamsburg is holding open auditions for their Christmas show. They are seeking performers of all kinds including dancers, singers and musicians. Auditions will be held in New York next week and then in VA the following.

The shows are also looking for people to play costumed characters.

BUSCH GARDENS ENTERTAINMENT and BOB CLINE CASTING are happy to announce auditions for the 2013 Christmas Town season for Busch Gardens Williamsburg. The award-winning Busch Gardens takes great pride and care in the direction the Entertainment department is headed. The new shows, with more to come, have the spirit of mini Broadway musicals and the show stopping energy of shows you may see in Vegas. Some of the Creatives for our new shows include Lisa Shriver, Shelly Isler, Matt West, Karma Camp, Ken Billington and Toni-Leslie James, to name a few.

We are seeking a few triple threats, but mostly strong Singer/Actors and strong Dancer/Actors. We are also seeking Interactive Actors with strong improv and other special skills. Rehearsals for most Christmas shows begin on 11/8 (some roles may begin rehearsals later), open on 11/22, and close on 12/31. The Christmas shows perform up to 6 times a day during weekends and 7 days/week from December 13-31 (Christmas Day off), making your salary + leaving you open to make money in other areas or possible other training. All roles paid + housing or housing assistance is provided.

Please prepare a song selection that shows off your voice and range. Contemporary Broadway or pop are best for us. Dancers should bring both characters and flats, and tap shoes if you tap. Singers should be prepared in case they are asked to come back for a movement call later in the day. For the dance call Dancers should still bring a song selection. Bring sheet music. Pianist provided. Please bring your audition book, in case we need to sing another type of song selection. Bring picture & resume. Actors of all ethnicities are strongly encouraged to attend this call. Non-Equity performers only.

“MIRACLES”: A passionate production that fuses classical ballet and contemporary styles through powerful music and dance. Accompanied by live vocalists, this ensemble of dancers will inspire guests to believe that anything is possible.

[FEMALE PRINCIPAL SINGER] Female. 30’s. The inspirational leading player who weaves story through song and piano musicianship. Exceptional singing voice and stage presence is required. MUST play Piano. Vocal Range: Soprano. Top note Gb.

[FEMALE ENSEMBLE SINGER] Female. 20’s to 30’s. Excellent singing voice. Vocal Range: Mezzo Soprano.

[FEMALE ENSEMBLE SINGER] Female. 20’s to 30’s. Excellent singing voice. Vocal Range: Alto

[MALE PRINCIPAL DANCER] Male. 20’s to early 30’s. Seeking a very dynamic, unique dancer – must have strong ballet and contemporary style and technique. Ballet partnering and lift experience a must. 5’8” or taller. Males should bring Jazz shoes.

[FEMALE PRINCIPAL DANCER] Female. 20’s to early 30’s. Seeking a smart, attractive, very dynamic dancer – must have strong ballet and contemporary style and technique. Outstanding pointe work. Partnering skills and lift experience a must. 5’6” or taller. Females should bring flats and pointe shoes.

[MALE ENSEMBLE DANCERS] Male. 20’s to early 30’s. Very dynamic, unique dancers – must have strong ballet and contemporary style and technique. Partnering skills and lift experience a must. 5’8” or taller. Males should bring Jazz shoes.

[BALTHAZAR] Male. 20’s to 30’s. The Purple King who brings frankincense to the manger. Styles range from Broadway to Gospel/Soul. Vocal Range: Bass/Baritone with strong belts.

“DECK THE HALLS”: A fun-filled, high-energy musical song and dance tribute to contemporary Christmas traditions that celebrates the magic of the season.

[MALE ENSEMBLE SINGER] Male. 20’s to 30’s. Funny, charming, unique with big personality and an exceptional voice. Styles range from Broadway to Pop. MUST move very well. Must be able to deliver comedic bits throughout the show. Vocal Range: Tenor with strong F and G.

[MALE ENSEMBLE DANCERS] Male. 20’s to early 30’s. Seeking very dynamic, unique dancers – should have a strong sense of style and technique. Style of the show is swing/jazz/lyrical. Partnering skills and lift experience a must. 5’8” or taller. Males should bring Jazz shoes.

[MALE VOCAL SWING] MUST be able to play all male singer parts for Gloria and Deck the Halls. Exceptional singer with great presence. Vocal Range: Bari/Tenor to F#, singing in the styles above as well as Pop/Soul. MUST MOVE WELL. Must be able to learn up to 8 parts for coverage.

[FEMALE VOCAL SWING] MUST be able to play all female singer parts for Gloria, Deck the Halls and Miracles. Exceptional singer with great presence and comedic timing. Vocal Range: Versatile Mezzo with top note: Bb. MUST MOVE WELL. Must be able to learn up to 8 parts for coverage.

[MALE SWING DANCER] 20’s to early 30’s. Seeking dynamic, technically strong dancers with excellent stage presence. Looking for Ballet and Jazz specifically. Partnering skills and lift experience a must. Tumbling a plus. 5’8” or taller. Males should bring jazz shoes. Must be able to cover all dancer roles.

[FEMALE SWING DANCER] 20’s. Looking for attractive, dynamic dancers – should have a strong sense of style, excellent technique and personality. Looking for Ballet and Jazz specifically. Partnering skills and lift experience a must. 5’6” or taller. Females should bring heels, flats, and pointe shoes. Must be able to cover all dancer roles.

[SANTA] The quintessential ageless Jolly Old Saint Nick type. Robust character actor must be extremely personable, lovable and highly skilled at interacting with guests and children. Must have a real beard.
