This production is an undergraduate thesis that will be shot on a Red Scarlet camera in high definition. It will be submitted to the University of Miami Canes Film Festival.
Summary
Jenny is a nurse in a hospital who is trying her best not to let her personal feelings merge with her taxing job. She encounters a ten year old boy by the name of Kevin who is terminally ill but is convinced, nonetheless, that he is going home. Unable to take Kevin’s enthusiasm to heart, Jenny distances herself from the one person who needs her the most.
Character description
Kevin:
A boy admitted into the hospital who is on the end of his rope. He’s clearly declining after spending a year in treatment in the hospital. Prior to being admitted, Kevin spent his years at an orphanage. He’s alone and scared but still tries to keep a positive attitude through it all.
Jenny:
A nurse in her mid twenties who refuses to let the emotional instability of her job interfere with her personal life. She is a good person but is hesitant in allowing people to get close to her for fear that she’ll end up emotionally attached.
Brandon:
A coworker of Jenny’s who is also a nurse. He is genuine and tries to be as comforting as he can towards Jenny.
