Synopsis:
A teenager plans on coming out to his parents and contemplates whether or not he’s ready.
I am an award-winning MFA Film student at Miami International University of Art and Design working on a 5-7 minute student film.
Character Breakdowns:
Chandler: Male Caucasian age 15-17
Chandler is a gay teenager who is planning on coming out to his parents, but is afraid he’d disappoint them because of their religious background. He’s conflicted on whether or not he’s ready, but feels that he cannot hide his sexuality from them any longer.
Sam: Male Caucasian, middle-aged adult (Preferably in his 40s)
Sam is the father of Chandler. He’s very light-hearted and has a great relationship with his son and wife. He accepts his son for who he is and disregards what his religion (he’s Catholic) believes about homosexuality.
Mary Ann: Female Caucasian, middle-aged adult (preferably in her 40s)
Mary Ann is the mother of Chandler. She’s somewhat serious and has a great relationship with her son and husband. She isn’t 100% comfortable with her son being gay, but accepts him for who he is, regardless of what her religion (she’s Catholic) says about homosexuality.
Angela: Female (All Ethnicities, but preferably Caucasian) age 15-17
Angela is the best friend of Chandler. She’s a free spirit and is very supportive of Chandler. She encourages Chandler to come out to his parents.
Shooting takes place on February 15-17, but most likely on the 16th and 17th, depending on scheduling availabilities.
Food will be provided and those who are casted will be given a copy of the finished product.
