Torrington CT, September 28, 2013 – 10:00am – 2:00pm – CAFTA (Connecticut Academy For The Arts) will be holding open auditions for children and adults ages 5 – 55 for our new musical theatre production. We are also holding auditions for musicians – violin, cello, and flute.
We are currently seeking actors (male & female), ages 5 – 55 with prior experience in community theatre to read for multiple roles in a staged performance of a new musical theatre production at Connecticut Academy For The Arts in Torrington, Connecticut.
The new musical, which is 3 acts, is written and directed by Teresa Sullivan, co-founder of CAFTA. The production will provide familiar songs as well as original scores.
A full performance of the play will be presented to the public later this fall, in Torrington. The event will last roughly 2 and a half hours.
Actors are asked to be prepared to sing 8 bars of music from any song of their choice a cappella. Please prepare a 1 minute monologue. Also bring headshot or recent photo and resume. No appointment is necessary but welcome.
Rehearsals will be Saturday & Sunday afternoons and some evenings depending on role.
Backstage staff is also needed – set builders, costume designer, light & sound.
