What is the Competition Dance Team?
This is a New DANCE Team at Rising Stars Performing Arts Center
This team (which will actually consist of two teams: a younger team and an older team) will give opportunities for students who want to perform in front of people regularly, and to do so and to compete. We will perform periodically throughout the community at nursing homes, libraries, festivals, community centers…Year-end Spring Showcases, basically anywhere we can get an audience, and of course at 2-3 competitions a year.
What are the ages for the Dance Team?
Students must be at least 7 years old, and preferably have at least one year of ballet dance training experience. We are especially looking for students between the ages of 7 and 14.
What are the types of dance the Dance Team will do?
• Ballet
• Tap
• Jazz
• Character and musical theatre type routines
• Hip-hop
We would ideally like the younger group to learn three to five routines.
We would like the older group to learn anywhere from five to ten routines.
