Flores Bros Productions is holding auditions for The Trade, a dramatic supernatural short film that will be shot in Dayton, OH. Production will begin in late April.
Synopsis:? Jon is a loving and compassionate husband who cherishes his wife Laura, the only woman he’s ever loved. On a blistering cold winter day, a careless driver kills Laura in a tragic car accident. Upon meeting The Angel of Death at Laura’s funeral, Jon is offered the option to take her place instead, but he must find the strength and courage to make the ultimate sacrifice, even though he knows he’ll never be with her again.

Character BIOS
[JON] [MALE] [AGE: 25-35]
Jon has a lot to live for. He’s a young, up and coming writer who just signed his first book deal. He’s stylish, attractive, charming, funny and witty but he’s nothing without his wife Laura. He’s a devoted and loving newlywed husband who would do anything for her. He was raised in a modest, middle class family where he witnessed true sacrificial love in his own parents’ relationship. Though his character could never be questioned, he doesn’t know if he’s strong enough to make the sacrifice so his wife can live again. He knows that she’ll then suffer the same pain of loss and heartache if he dies for her.
[ANGEL OF DEATH] [MALE] [AGE: 45-55]
Death is a timeless being. He’s weathered, rugged and tough. He’s not a bad guy, but he’s not a good guy either. He’s good at one thing though, his job, and frankly, he kind of enjoys it. Death isn’t from around here, or from this time period. He wears a classy suit and tie. He enjoys the simple things from a time long gone; reading newspapers, lighting his cigarettes with matches, driving big old cars, Sinatra, and he especially loves telling a good story. Occasionally he meets people whom he finds to be interesting, people that perhaps deserve a second chance.
[LAURA] [FEMALE] [AGE: 25-35]
Laura is a beautiful young woman who loves her husband Jon very much. She is infatuated with his charm, but still knows how to keep him grounded. She’s smart, playful and funny but a bit clumsy and sometimes forgetful. She met her husband in college and he’s the only guy to treat her the way she deserves but she’s still insecure that someone could love her for who she is.
[TIM] [MALE] [AGE: 25-35]
Tim is a selfish womanizer who is unfaithful to his wife. He doesn’t care about anyone half as much as he cares about himself. He’s good looking, but vain and conceited. He has a guilty conscience every time he cheats because he does love his wife but he lets his selfish desires influence his decisions. He’s been cheating so long that he’s starting to slip and his wife is starting to suspect him. His world is caving in on him with every new woman he meets. He can’t keep up his charade much longer.
[PAUL] [MALE] [AGE: 55-65]
Paul is Jon’s father. He is a hopeless romantic with dozens of crazy stories to tell about his days chasing pretty girls. He’s a sensitive soul who is heartbroken over his son’s loss. He’s trying his best to comfort Jon, but he’s in just as much pain. He’s the type of guy that makes every situation seem better after you talk with him.
