Auditions for Star Wars VII lead roles announced.

Star Wars Auditions episode 7

Disney is looking for a teen girl 17 to 18 for the role of ‘Rachel’ and a young man 19 to 23 for the role of ‘Thomas’.

The role of Rachel is described as:

“Always a survivor, never a victim, she remains hopeful that she can move away from this harsh existence to a better life. She is always thinking what she can do to move ahead”

and Thomas:

“Without the model of being a man, he doesn’t have the strongest sense of himself. Despite this he is smart, capable and shows courage when needed.”

Disney will be producing Star Wars Episode 7 and it seems they are already casting for the film. An open casting call has been announced in the UK for 2 lead roles, a male and female. Disney casting directors will be meeting with actors interested in the parts in Bristol this weekend and then later in Glasgow, London, Dublin and Manchester.

Disney announced a nationwide casting search and hopes to find the 2 new characters needed in the UK. The Star Wars franchise has a reputation for casting unknown actors in major parts and this may be a great opportunity for 2 young UK actors to get into the new Star Wars Trilogy.

The new Star Wars movie will be directed by JJ Abrams(‘Lost’, ‘Star Trek’, ‘Fringe’, ‘Mission Impossible 3’, ‘Super 8’). Star Wars Episode 7 will be filming in the Spring of 2014 and will be expected in movie theaters sometime in 2015.

The new film is rumored to include some of the old cast of the original trilogy. Harrison Ford is rumored to be reprising his role as Han Solo. Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams and Anthony Daniels (c-3po) are also rumored to be a part of the new Star Wars project.

As Episode VII is still in pre-production right now and the screenplay will be written by Lawrence Kasdan and director J.J. Abrams. Kasdan worked on other George Lucas films which include Raiders of the Lost Ark , The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

A recent interview with Abrams revealed that the director wanted to see Star Wars return to the dirtier, more frontier looking days of the original trilogy. The second Star Wars trilogy was full of shiny, sparkling, futuristic architecture unlike its grittier predecessor. He also would like to see more of the mystery returned to the series.

    Hello,

My name is Alexander Jones, but you can just call me Alex. I am a starting actor with a large history in theatre. I have been acting since I was 10. I am now 20, however when I shave I look 16 and have been mistaken for a 15 or 16 year old. I am 5 foot 11 and athletic. I have dark brown wavy hair and brown eyes. I would like to audition or be considered for a role in your film “Star Wars Episode 7” as the of THOMAS.

My hair is dark brown, I usually have it spiked like in the headshot, but I do grow it out if my character needs it. It is wavy when long. My eyes are dark brown.
