Disney Pictures “Star Wars Episode VII” US Auditions coming to St. Louis.
We all heard the news that Disney Pictures is looking for 2 unknown actors to play lead roles in the new Star Wars Trilogy that is in the pre-production stage. More auditions have been announced. Actually, they are calling this a meet and greet to meet with potential actors for the role.
Disney fans as well as “Star Wars” fans have been going nuts trying to figure out where these 2 new characters will fit in.
Disney will hold an open meeting with a casting director this Sunday in downtown St. Louis. Actors that fit the below specs can come in and meet with casting directors for a shot to be featured in the new Star Wars film.
The casting search is being done in the U.S. and the U.K.
The roles are called “Rachel” and “Thomas” for now but we do not know if those will be the real names of the new characters. The Star Wars franchise has cast unknown actors for previous films and it seems they will continue that trend!
The new Star Wars movie will be directed by JJ Abrams(‘Lost’, ‘Star Trek’, ‘Fringe’, ‘Mission Impossible 3?, ‘Super 8?). Star Wars Episode 7 will be filming in the Spring of 2014 and will be expected in movie theaters sometime in 2015.
The new film is rumored to include some of the old cast of the original trilogy. Harrison Ford is rumored to be reprising his role as Han Solo. Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams and Anthony Daniels (c-3po) are also rumored to be a part of the new Star Wars project.
This audition opportunity is for St. Louis residents and a previous casting call schedule for Star Wars has been released for the UK.
Local St. Louis station KSDK reported the following:
Casting Director Maryellen Aviano is looking for a young female and a young male.
