Paid Extras Mississippi
The James Brown biopic “Get on Up” will be filming a concert scene in Jackson Mississippi. The scene will film all day, beginning in the early morning on January 7th 2014. The film is looking for Caucasian and African American paid extras that are 18 and over who have full availability on the 7th.
James Brown, Jr. was one of the founders of “funk” in the 1970’s. He has been a tremendous influence to many recording artists and music genres for decades. He is called “The Godfather of Soul” and had a very long career that spanned 60+ years.
“Get On Up” is a feature film that will cover over 3 decades. The film will cover James Brown in his youth, as an up and coming artist and later as the Godfather of soul. The film features an all-star cast that includes Dan Aykroyd, Viola Davis, Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, Lennie James, Chadwick Boseman and many others.
The new James Brown film will be re-creating a Paris concert in the year 1971. Casting directors are looking for extras that can fit in with the 70’s.
Extras casting in Jackson Mississippi is being handled by Tammy Smith. Please only apply if you live around the Jackson Mississippi area as travel expenses are NOT covered. All extras will be paid an hourly rate.

We are looking to book the following paid extras for a scene filming JANUARY 7th, IN JACKSON
CAUCASIAN and AFRICAN AMERICAN
MEN and WOMEN, ages 18 and over
for a really FUN CONCERT scene
that takes place in 1971 Paris (filming in Jackson, MS)
These are daytime scenes (starting early in the morning on January 7th)
Please submit as soon as you can and over the holidays. We will be booking now and over the next few weeks!
Note 1: We need SOME of you to go on a costume fitting on Jan 2nd or Jan 3rd, so please start submitting now so we can set some of you up for fittings before and during our holiday break/hiatus! Not all will need go on the fitting, but we need to pre-fit a core group of you to establish the look of the scene for 1971!
