Humblefolk Productions Casting Call Auditions
We are looking for hard working reliable people that are non-union status only. These are non-paid roles (at this stage of the production). Auditions will be held Saturday August 24th, 2013 from 12:00-3:00pm at Auburn Hills Community Center (1827 N. Squirrel Road, Auburn Hills, MI 48326, in the Carriage Room). Prepare a 1-minute monologue for this audition. You will be given sides upon your arrival. You must have an appointment to audition. Thank you.
Synopsis and Character Breakdown
This powerful stage play takes place in the 1930’s on Chicago’s South Side. This historical gem explores the life of African-Americans in the street “numbers-racket” during the gangster era and portrays how the money from this illegal entity provided wealth, businesses and economic stability for blacks during the Great Depression Era. An original work by playwright, Anetria Cole.
