Iluminar Aerial is auditioning for their professional aerial dance company for the upcoming 2013-2014 season starting in September. We are looking for trained professional male and female dancers with previous experience in ballet, modern or jazz technique looking to learn the art of aerial dance. No previous aerial experience in necessary, as we offer internship programs to learn the art of aerial. If you have previous aerial experience, you will be considered for the core professional company. The Iluminar company requirements are weekly rehearsals on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings as well as Saturday afternoons. Paid and unpaid performance opportunities are offered throughout the year as well as paid teaching opportunities for a variety of our programs.
Audition requirements are a prepared 1 1/2 minute- 2 minute solo showcasing your strengths in dance or aerial. You will then be taught a short combination incorporating an aerial apparatus as well as a strength test.
