Casting for One-Camera Pilot
Where: Web submissions
This casting notice was posted on auditionsfree.com
Type: Web series
Original pilot to film in and around downtown Lancaster, PA from
6/24-7/15. Most actors’ scene work will be planned in advanced in an effort to consolidate each actors’ shooting schedule.
Pilot is a traditional 23 ½ minute episode, but will mostly be shot with one-cam. Looking for actors who are able to find the humor in awkwardness and momentary tragedy. Each actor needs to be comfortable with really possessing his/her character, and making bold choices with dialogue and physical comedy. Improv skills would be handy for what we’re looking for.
We have most of the men cast, but are open to taking a look at other men as long as you have the ability to outwit our own comedy writers. We are especially looking for the four characters in the breakdown below.

Breakdown:
WOMEN:
Nora: F, 25-35. Awkward sense of humor. Romantic lead, in love with a guy who is even more awkward than she is. Endearing at first, but as her arc progresses, it becomes clear she’s very good at manipulating people – and is OK with using inappropriate (see: awkward) means to trick people into liking her.
Danni: F, 28-35. Ambitious, knows what she wants. New to being a divorcee. She isn’t hardened, though. There is a loving side to her, but she is guarded. This actress must be great at finding comedy in really tragic plotlines.
Lulu: F, 21-26¾. Oblivious, but has a real talent for getting things done – to everyone’s surprise. Must know how to fall in love with a gay man.
MALE:
Norman: M: 40s-early 50s. Quirky, but self-serious. Professional. For some curious reason, this man’s accent wanders between several different dialects. He is 93% capable of hiding his idiosyncrasy, but when it comes out, it is on display to everyone. Except him. Ability to deadpan and improv a plus.
