The whiskey drinkin’ Sandman delivers his last dream… a tale of his lost love.
Sandman Blues follows the story of Quicksand the Sandman as he recounts his origins and the tale of how he lost his “dream” girl. The short will play on the mysticism of the Cajun south and feature a blues bar aesthetic.
We’ll be conducting an open casting call this Sunday, February 24th at the Seattle University Lemieux Library: 901 12th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122
The four roles we are casting are as follows:
• Quicksand the Sandman: Late 20’s – early 30’s male, a blue grass musician with his eyes on the local saloon’s lounge singer.
• Rosetta, Quicksand’s Love: Late 20’s – early 30’s female, a lounge singer who falls for the mystical Sandman.
• Marie the Voodoo Woman: African American woman, late 30’s – early 50’s, a bar regular and saloon mystic that bestows Quicksand with his abilities.
• The Sandman’s “Son”: A young boy, 8 – 12 years old, who’s the recipient of the Sandman’s final tale.
