Principal & Featured Roles:

but very plain looking spinster. She yearns desperately for romance.
H.C CURRY (Baritone, 50 – 70) – Lizzie’s father. Powerfully set, capable,
dependable – but a dreamer too.
NOAH CURRY (Baritone, 30-40) – Lizzie’s older brother. Like his father, without
H.C.’s imagination. He would appear to be self-righteous and rigidly opinionated
were it not for his basic decency and his warm yearning to be kind.
JIMMY CURRY (Tenor, late teens to early 20s) – Lizzie’s younger brother.
Big and broad-shouldered, but the mind of a child. He is filled with longing.
BILL STARBUCK (Baritone: strong upper register, early 30s to mid 40s ) – A big man,
lithe, agile — a loud braggart, a gentle dreamer. Starbuck is the driving force of the story
– a strong actor who sings and is able to carry the intimate romantic scenes as well
as the big musical numbers.
FILE (Baritone, mid 30s to early 40s) – The sheriff, He is a lean man, reticent,
intelligent. He smiles wryly at the world and at himself.
SNOOKIE UPDEGRAFF (Mezzo/Belt, dancer, mid teens to early 20s) – She is
perky and charming. Strong comedienne.
