Braentrust presents a brand new web series to be produced in the months of May and June by the name of Dark Figure. This black comedy tells the story of a quirky criminal underworld in an unknown city just to the left of reality, a world filled with an awry of absurd characters who go about their daily lives intermingling with crooks and crime lords all under the guise of a seemingly lawless territory. At the center of the show is an elusive figure know only as Grandma; a sweet old lady to those closest to her, a felonious Queen of the criminal abyss to all else. She extends her will and influence through all criminal activity inside the city and beyond through the help of her two enforcers Rufus and Dante, who’s day to day includes intimidating clients, collecting money, and the occasional “damage control” at grandma’s request.
We are currently looking for an actress to play the Role of Grandma, someone who can project an adorably maternal nature on the surface, but can also tap into the ruthless undertones of an undisputed queen pin. Think Don Vito Corleone meets Betty White. Principle photography is scheduled to begin mid may and continuing all through the month of June in the Philadelphia/West Chester Area.
