Auditions January 7 & 9 2014 for Poppins Children’s Theatre spring production of
“Seeing Lessons”
Written by West Hartford’s own, Spring Herman, with music by Stephen Murray. Seeing Lessons is the story of Abigail Carter and America’s First School for the Blind. In 1832, when Abigail was only 10 years old, two doctors from Boston invited her to be one of the first students in an experimental institution: a school for blind people. The first of Poppins Players new touring company will begin rehearsals in January. Performances will be held in late March and April in central CT venues. Audition is by appointment. Open to children ages 10 -18. Previous stage experience a plus. Prepare a short monologue and 16 bars of a Broadway song. Call Backs will be held January 14. Rehearsals begin January 16 and run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4p-6p through late March.
If cast there is a program participation fee.
