A new HBO pilot is now in pre-production and seeking an experienced actor to fill the lead role.
Casting directors with Heery casting in Philadelphia will be auditioning experienced actors who fit the following physical description. Actors must be either African American or have a multi-ethnic look. The role is specified as being that of a young African American male. The project is looking for a very handsome man who is between the ages of 22 and 25.
The project is being produced for HBO and will be the first TV project for 12 Years a Slave director Steve McQueen. The new series is a drama about a young African American man who is coming into New York’s elite society. Steve McQueen wrote a script along with Matthew Michael Carnahan who also wrote “World War Z“. Deadline reports that the series may be described as “Six Degrees of Separation meets Shame.”
Russell Simmons is set to executive producer the pilot and also serving as producers will be Oscar winners Iain Canning and Emile Sherman.
