Reality show casting call in Ireland
The Irish reality travel show, ‘Ó Tholg go Tolg’ is casting a woman to star in the show’s new season. ‘Ó Tholg go Tolg’ is a unique show that gives viewers a taste of what life is like in European countries from a travelers standpoint. ‘Ó Tholg go Tolg’ translates to ‘couch to couch’. The show focuses on what a certain country is like for locals by having the shows female travelers couch surf country to country rather than do the usual hotels and hostels that most tourists do.
The shows episodes include the girls coming into a country and staying with a local family…. on their couch. Sometimes the couch is free, other times it comes at a cost which can be doing some housework, farm work or even literally singing for their supper.
The show chronicles the experiences of the hosting families and the travelers in each country and the hosts offer stories and insights about their history and way of life. The hosts double as tour guides and take the travelers on tours into the cities, historical landmarks and even the homes of their neighbors to show them what life is like in their country.
This is an Irish TV show on an Irish network and women applying must speak the language. Casting directors for the show state that “The Irish language is essential to the show as it gives the girls a secret means of communication which others will not understand.”
The serials second season saw the show visit 12 countries to take in the unique culture of their surroundings. They bunked with German street performers, met some clowns, got first hand accounts of the Serbian bombings and what life is like for a refugee.
If you are Irish, speak the language fluently and are ready to embark on a summertime adventure across Europe… not to mention star in a reality show…. here is your chance!
