Son of a Preacher Man is a TV series about Grammy Award-winning music artist Jamie Jackson who leaves his thriving music career to return home to his father’s small-town church as the new Music Director.
We are filming a 6 minute trailer with a “fill in” cast to pitch the series. There is NO PAY, but you do receive a copy of the trailer and meals.
The shoot is 2 days Dec 13 and 14th. MUST be available for both days.
CAST:
Bishop James Jackson, 67, African American. Bishop is a man truly dedicated to doing God’s work. But his balance of work and family was always a problem when Jamie was growing up. Now that Jamie is an adult, he and Bishop have been slowly working on the rough edges of their relationship.
Kenya, 33, African American. Kenya was extremely upset with Jamie for leaving without saying goodbye but in a knee-jerk reaction, Jamie proposed to Kenya over the phone. It was a short-lived engagement that eventually ruined their friendship, but her love for Jamie has always remained deep in her heart.
Brandon, 30, Caucasian. Brandon joins the church staff as the only Caucasian member. Bishop is drawn to Brandon’s tenacious spirit and elects to mentor him as a “bishop in the making”.
Patrick, 35, Caucasian. Patrick is a former bandmate of Jamie’s who was kicked out of the band for drug use. Ten years ago, Patrick became the Music Director at his parent’s church, which is just across town from Jamie’s church. Patrick is extremely jealous of Jamie because he believes that the solo contract would have been his, had he still been in the band. Patrick maintains a bitter heart towards Jamie. His lifestyle of rebellion fuels his revenge to end at nothing but destruction of Jamie’s character and career.
Reggie, 42, Caucasian. Reggie is Jamie’s manager and is very upset about Jamie’s decision to leave his career to become the Music Director. He is relentless, continuing to book tours and shows for Jamie so he can lure him away from the church. However, Jamie constantly reminds him that his new responsibilities as the Music Director will not allow him to tour.
Jamaal, 35, African American. Jamaal is a former bandmate of Jamie’s. While some residue of Jamie’s harsh departure remains between them, Jamaal and Jamie are working towards building a strong friendship.
