Auditions for Sactra / Profana

SACRA/PROFANA, San Diego’s leading professional chamber choir, announces auditions for boys aged 8-12 to sing a featured part at Comic Con 2014. The concert, Music of Danny Elfman (Tim Burton Films) will be performed with SACRA/PROFANA and the San Diego Symphony on Friday, July 25th 2014 at 8pm.
Auditions will be held on Sunday, April 27th 2014 from 2:30-3:45pm at the Immaculata Parish Hall on the University of San Diego campus.
Auditioning choristers should have the ability to…
• Learn music quickly
• Read proficiently
• Blend well vocally in a group setting
• Match pitch and vowels with others
• Pay attention through rehearsals
The group audition process will consist of…
• Vocalizing in a group setting
• Learning a short excerpt of music
• Voice matching and placement
• Singing the taught excerpts alone or in small groups
• Please note: There is NO prepared section of this audition.
If auditioning, choristers must have the following dates/times available:
Sunday, July 13th 2-4pm
Monday, July 14th 7-9pm
Sunday, July 20th 7-9pm
Wednesday, July 23rd 6-10pm
Friday, July 25th 9:45am-12:30pm
Friday, July 25th 7:30-10:00pm (performance)
