Casting Call for Kids on the TV Series “The Astronauts Wife” in NOLA

Babies and Kids wanted on ABC’s new period drama series.

 “The Astronauts Wives Clubis casting kids in New Orleans, Louisiana – ages newborn to 10 for small roles in the upcoming TV show.

The Astronauts Wives Club” is set in the 60’s during the space race. The show follows a group of astronauts wives as they support their husbands who are about to take-off into space.

Kenneth Mitchell will star as Wisconsin farm boy and World War II pilot Deke Slayton. Deke is in the space program but his dreams of going to space are cut short after a medical condition is discovered preventing him from going to the stars. Joining Mitchell in the main cast are JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Odette Annable (House) and Desmond Harrington (Dexter).o According to TVline, originally, the series was supposed to premiere this fall and center on the wives of the Mercury astronauts, but the show got expanded to include the Apollo and Gemini missions and has pushed the premiere date into early 2015. “The Astronauts Wives Club” is based on Lily Koppel’s 2013 novel.

Casting call for kids in Louisiana area

Central Casting in Louisiana is seeking the following:

We are now taking submissions for Caucasian looking children ages newborn – 10 years old to work as background on the TV Series, “The Astronaut Wives Club.” This is a period piece, so everyone should be able to portray a clean cut 1960’s look. Think Leave it to Beaver.

Children and parents would need to commit to working numerous days throughout October through February in the greater New Orleans area.
